Title: Functional biomimetic surfaces - Methods and materials for nano- and microstructuring
Abstract: Biomimetic surfaces like Gecko feet, butterfly wings, or Salvinia plants are characterised by high functionality. Nevertheless the mass fabrication on large areas of these kind of (threedimensional) structures is still challenging. In this talk new approaches will be presented demonstrating the potential of modified and alternative replication technologies for the fabrication of biomimetic surfaces. Further the aspects of replication materials and material combinations for the fabrication of such kind of surfaces will be presented.
